I’ve been meaning to blog about this for quite a while. One of the coolest things I remember seeing during the Katrina hurricane emergency was the Tide trucks that came and helped people out by providing mobile washing machines and dryers.
Imagine, your whole world is gone. Everything you’ve worked for, home, car, belongs…gone. You manage to get out of a disaster area with maybe some clothes and a few personal belongings. You are living in a huge stadium, sleeping on the floor – hot and sweaty.
But one company sends mobile washing machines. You can wash your clothes and your kids clothes and blankets. You can feel clean again. Such a simple thing, but a good feeling. Probably one of the only good feelings you will have that day.
Bravo to you Procter & Gamble for your Tide Loads of Hope Program. They were there during Katrina, the Southern California Wildfires, the Iowa Floods, and most recently Hurricanes Gustav and Ike.
P&G is trying to help get the word out about their efforts to raise money via T-Shirt sales to support families that are affected by disaster in this one-of-a-kind program. The shirts are vintage-looking and support a great cause.
Shirts can be purchased through this link: Tide Loads of Hope
If you feel like helping a great cause, click the above link and get a couple T-Shirts and help keep this program going.

Wow, those are cool! I’ve never seen that truck before. And you’re right, clean clothes must feel like such a blessing under such tough circumstances.
