Saturday, Miss Princess and I woke up and decided instead of housecleaning we would go to the quilt store. I had purchased this online and wanted to get some more fabric to go with it.
So, because it’s great to have a girl child who will actually go to the quilt store with me, I promised her ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery after the quilt shop trip. So, we get to the quilt shop, wander around and I find some more black and whites and some plain black and yellow and had a nice chat with Kay of Threads and Treasures Quilt shop in Belleville and then we headed back towards home.
One of my friends had told me that a new sushi place had opened up so we stopped there and had a ball! The sushi chef loved Miss Princess and we totally pigged out. Then, we stopped at Cold Stone Creamery and each got an wonderful ice cream. Mind you, it’s freezing outside but we did it anyway! What a nice day!
Now, as for the above fabric … my plan is to make a simple quilt, something like a square within a square type … very plain. I want the fabric to talk as it is very graphic. If any of you know a pattern that would make my life easy, I would love to hear it!
I also purchased two Patchalot patterns:
Circle of Friends
And, Tea in the Garden
One of these calls for a Tri-Rec ruler so I guess I’m going to have to get one.
I wanted to get Indian Paintbrush (see below) but Kay was out of that pattern. I guess I’ll have to wait for that one.
I’ve wanted to get some of Marcie’s patterns because I think they are cool and she seems like a very nice lady. I read many blogs and it’s interesting how some folks come across – some nice and some well nothing more needs to be said, lol. I just have an impression from her blog that she is one of those people that I would like. If you want to read her blog click here – Patchalot . You can buy her patterns directly from her, if you wish. I may have to do that for Indian Paintbrush pattern.
I also purchased this tote bag/purse pattern:
What is cool about this pattern is that you make an insert that is removable so you can just put all your junk in the removable insert and if you want to change bags, you just pull it out of one bag and plop it into another. I like that idea!
All in all, a very fun day.
