Refinishing the table – Part III

by Diane on July 8, 2009

It’s done.  Whew.  It’s been so long since I refinished anything it was like I was learning something brand new.

I used this to stain it.

I liked it, but am not sure I would use it again.  You have to move fast with the poly in the stain and I got some brush stokes that  needed to be sanded down and stained again.  But, it could be because I am out of practice.  I sanded with this between each coat of stain.

Of course, I had a lot of help.

My pictures of the table didn’t turn out very well because of the light, but you get the idea!

The top is darker which I wanted and the bottom is not as red as this photo shows, more of a dark brown.  I like it and the best part is this table was being thrown out and I picked it up for free.  I’m amazed at what people throw out.  I am a total convert to junking now.
