Ocean Waves Quilt

November 5, 2009

I have fallen in want-to-do with this quilt from Moda Lissa’s blog:

Here’s another shot from McCall’s Holiday quilting:

Another shot:

I think this quilt is absolutely gorgeous but look at all those 1/2 square triangles!  I must have this magazine here somewhere – I’m going to hunt it down.  I ordered some French General Rounneries from 44th [...]

Halloween 2009

November 1, 2009

Miss Princess was Little Red Riding Hood.  This is the easiest costume we have ever done.  She and her friends went trick or treating and afterwards they went to one of the girl’s houses and are watching scary movies and spending the night.
Sure is lots different when they get older.  When did she grow up?

I’m a little miffed…

October 30, 2009

On September 17th, I ordered a fat quarter bundle of Rouenneries by French General from Hancock’s of Paducah.
I have yet to receive it.  It is on “backorder”.
Yet, I received an email solicitation today from them and featured predominately was Rouenneries.
So, are they still taking orders when they haven’t fulfilled their backorders?  I wrote them asking [...]

They have over 800 carved pumpkins lining a path through the Village and many of the houses are decorated [...]

October 24, 2009

Bill, you didn’t leave a visible email address, so maybe this will explain it to you:
Court rules the KBR employee’s gang rape wasn’t a personal injury ‘arising in the workplace.’
THE POINT is, one shouldn’t have to sue one’s employer to get the RIGHT to sue the guys who GANG RAPE YOU, get it?  And, one’s [...]

This is just so wrong…

October 23, 2009

I debated about posting this but it has been bothering me terribly since I first read it.
Warning, graphic language.  If you came over for some lighthearted banter, today is not your day.  Click on out, please.
Backstory – About 4 years ago,  Jamie Leigh Jones, 19 YEARS OLD, went to Iraq to work for KBR which [...]

This should be sent to everyone. Do it.

October 21, 2009

I read something that finally resonated with me a few weeks ago.  A lady by the name of Grace Davis wrote this and spoke at the annual BlogHer conference.
She is a victim of child abuse (I have been abused psychologically and emotionally but not physically or sexually, thank goodness).  And, I now believe that her [...]
