I have fallen in want-to-do with this quilt from Moda Lissa’s blog:
Here’s another shot from McCall’s Holiday quilting:
Another shot:
I think this quilt is absolutely gorgeous but look at all those 1/2 square triangles! I must have this magazine here somewhere – I’m going to hunt it down. I ordered some French General Rounneries from 44th Street Fabrics on Etsy and it should be here any day now because she ships FAST unlike good ole Hancock’s of Paducah whom I finally called and got a response that basically said, “We don’t have the fat quarters you ordered but hopefully, they will be here in a couple weeks”. See my original rant here.
This is what I’m getting from 44th Street Fabrics:

I cruised the ‘net looking for other Ocean Waves quilts and found these:
I really like this one from Blue Meadow Designs blog – I would never think of using these colors because I’m creatively challenged. I think this is superb.
OK, I think I know where I put that magazine. I’m off to find it and see what extra fabric I may have to order!

I admire your desire for ~complication~ immensely! ;P
Wow!
I love that pattern — especially in those reds! I do lots of crazy stuff but I don’t know if I could psych myself up for all those triangles… can’t wait to see your quilt, though!
One way to make all those triangle squares easier to make: use programs that allow you to make them using printed foundation papers. See Quilt-Pro’s “Print & Sew” software (http://www.quiltpro.com/go.php?id=Triangle_Magic_half_mainpage) or Brenda Hennings “Triangulations” software (http://www.bearpawproductions.com/triangulations.htm).
I used the Quilt-Pro software to help me make the trees on the Minik & Simpson “Brrr Park” quilt (http://www.minickandsimpson.com/catalog.php?category=14&page=3). The blocks got done in record time, the quilt however, is still waiting for quilting. No software for that!
Good luck with your Ocean Waves proect!
Hi! I have always wanted to make an ocean waves quilt and I think I’ve finally found “The One”! I’m thinking of ordering the kit from Hancocks of P – but I’d rather make at least a solid queen size quilt, which to me means 94″ x 94″ – or even a King, my parents would be THRILLED!
If you have the time to give me a hint on what I’d need to order on top of the kit to make it bigger – well, that’s a lot to ask and you’d be an angel. If I were rich I’d just order 2 kits . . .
Do you know how much extra I’d need of the fabrics to enlarge it like this????
Hi!
I was surprised to see my picture here online…the second to last one..
Would you be so kind to either mention me and my website or take my picture off? Would have been nice if you had asked me about it
